2. The rosary
The rosary is like a fossil, able to withstand the pressure of successive layers of time and yet so brittle when you try to bring it to the surface. The fossil is also a form of concretion of past matter, of the living preserved at the heart of the living itself. I am now coming out of my contemplation.
The light has dimmed, yet the gaps still let in a few rays. There is no door in my chapel, because the memory calls for constant contemplation.
