Kaarigari (Cah-ree-gu-ree) is a research project investigating the practice of metal embossing, focusing on the dialogue between traditional craft techniques and contemporary industrial processes, particularly in the production of tableware.The aim was to inspire discussions about contemporary design and the preservation of traditional craft, arguing for a holistic understanding of how craft and industry influence each other. By highlighting the complexities of this relationship, we tried to understand the potential for coexistence and mutual enrichment of the artisanal and industrial realms.
